Amy's Kitchen Chilli, Mac 'N' Cheeze + More

This post is by guest blogger Jessie.

Amy’s Kitchen is a family-run company with a whole lotta love behind it. The company originated in California but is now huge in the UK, and there are certainly a lot of fans over here: everyone I come across who has sampled their delicious ready meals has nothing but positive things to say. The products are vegetarian, but more and more vegan options have been appearing on supermarket shelves lately. These include a range of vegetable soups, stews and also frozen burritos and curries ready to heat up in the oven or microwave. On top of this there's the Amy's staple chilli, which is the product I’m going to be talking about today, plus a VEGAN mac 'n' cheeze and a hearty lasagne. Amy’s kitchen are a dream for the days you’re feeling too lazy to cook, and you don’t feel guilty about it because all the ingredients are top quality – as I said a lot of love & care goes into this brand!

Let’s talk chilli. Everyone loves Mexican food and it’s one of the most vegan-friendly cuisines going. Amy’s kitchen chilli comes in a tin and is priced between £1.70-£2. I'm not usually drawn to canned food, but I’m telling you this is totally worth it. For those of you reading that like ‘meaty’ vegan food, this one's for you. The chilli not only includes kidney beans but also tofu which resembles and tastes like mince - without the gristle! This is a wonderful for a cheap midweek meal that would be perfect for a camping trip or to fool (and certainly impress) your non-vegan friends, and it also has an impressive amount of protein. Pair it up with a slow-baked jacket potato, some sweet potato wedges, wholegrain pasta (like @creatively_charlotte did below) or rice or on top of tortilla chips for a loaded plate of nachos! If you're feeling adventurous there’s also the option of creating burritos & tacos, perhaps with some Gary. One tin, many uses. It's definitely a winner in our book!

Amy's Kitchen products are available at Whole Foods, As Nature Intended, Planet Organic and Holland & Barrett stores throughout London plus an increasing number of supermarkets are now stocking a selection of their products.
